About Me

Ms Michi Masumi, BA, MA (She/Her)
Photographer | Creative Technologist | AI Artist | Poet

I'm Michi Masumi, a transdisciplinary artist and researcher driven by a lifelong passion for identity, resistance, and visibility. Using the 'Affective Recomposition Methodology' within my creative outputs.

As the founder and managing director of The Black Art Hub CIC and The Benjamin Zephaniah Digital Online Library, I am committed to amplifying Black British voices through arts, culture, and technology.

I work across photography, AI-generated art, poetry, and ethnographic research to explore themes of cultural memory, intersectionality, and innovation.

My creative practice is rooted in my lived experience and guided by my original research frameworks: ADN (Anthro-Digital Narratives), MMAT, MAETT, MPM, and CADE. These models are designed to serve both neurodivergent and marginalised creatives, bridging theory with creative technology.

I am proud to be the founder of:

  • Human-Centred Creative Anthropology (HCCA)—a new research field focused on creative and community-driven ethnography

  • Black Techno-Cultural Autonomy Studies (BTCAS)—an academic discipline centring Black thought, creative coding, and autonomous cultural practice

  • Currently researching through a Creative Ethnographical Exploration: Counternarratives, Culture, and Code—Art, Activism, Aesthetics & AI: Black, British, and Female' investigates the intersections of visual art, resistance, AI, and the archive.

“We Are the Archive. We Are the Data. We Are the Designers.”
