Preparation Guidelines:

​What to Wear & How to Prepare

​

• To get the most out of our session, please follow these guidelines. My goal is to capture your true self with an authentic polish, so coming prepared allows us to focus on your narrative and identity.

1. The Wardrobe Strategy

• Your outfit should reflect your professional "worth" or your personal story.

• Fit & Care: Ensure all clothing is clean and well-pressed. Camera sensors pick up every wrinkle and lint speck.

• Colours: Mid-tones and neutrals (navy, forest green, burgundy, grey, and chocolate) are universally flattering. Avoid neon colours, as they reflect unwanted light onto your skin.

• Patterns: Avoid tiny, busy patterns (like pinstripes or small checks), as they can cause a "vibrating" effect on digital screens. Solid colours or large textures (like knits or linen) work best.

• Necklines: For headshots, consider your neckline. V-necks lengthen the neck, while higher collars can feel more formal and authoritative.

2. Family Coordination (Groups of 4)

• Coordinate, Don't Match: Avoid wearing identical outfits. Instead, pick a "colour story"—for example, everyone wears different shades of blue, cream, and tan.

• Mix Textures: Combining a denim jacket, a wool sweater, and a cotton shirt adds visual depth to the group shot without looking cluttered.

3. Hair & Grooming

• Since my signature style focuses on authentic global edits rather than digital manipulation, please arrive "camera-ready."

• Hair: Style your hair as you usually would for a big meeting or event. Avoid trying a brand-new style the day of the shoot.

• Skin: If you have oily skin, a light application of translucent powder or "blotting papers" is highly recommended to reduce shine under professional lights.

• Details: If we are doing half-body or branding shots, remember that your hands may be visible. Ensure nails are clean and tidy.

4. Eyewear

• If you wear glasses daily, please wear them! However, ensure the lenses are perfectly clean. If you have multiple pairs, bring the ones with the best anti-reflective coating to minimise glare.

5. Final Checklist

• Confidence: The best thing you can wear is a relaxed mind. We will work through poses and expressions together using my HCCA framework to ensure you feel comfortable.

• Inspo: If you have specific "looks" you love, have them ready on your phone to show me at the start of the session.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy:

Please note that your session fee is non-refundable, as it secures a dedicated time slot in my studio schedule.

If you need to reschedule, you must provide at least 48 hours' notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or failure to attend your session (no-shows), will result in the full session fee being charged with no refund provided.
